    Kinetic Monitoring of Photocatalytic Degradation of Methylene Blue by Semiconducting Bismuth Oxide

  • Abstract

    The photo catalytic degradation of methylene blue has been investigated in presence of bismuth oxide. The rate of photocatalytic degradation of dye was observed spectrophotometrically. The effect of variation of different parameters like pH, concentration of dye, amount of semiconductor and light intensity on the rate of photobleaching was also observed. A tentative mechanism for the photocatalytic degradation of methylene blue has also been proposed.
