    Laser Parameters of Nd+3 and Er+3 Doped Silica Glasses Prepared by Sol-Gel Technique

  • Abstract

    Neodymium and Erbium ion doped silica glasses have been prepared by Sol-Gel technique. The experimental oscillator strengths were calculated from the areas under the absorption bands. Judd-Ofelt parameters (Ω λ) evaluated using the observed spectral intensities have been used to compute various laser parameters viz., spontaneous emission probability (A), radiative life time (τ), fluorescence branching ratio (β) and stimulated emission cross-section (σsp).
